Pompeii – Private Tours by Well Arranged Travel

Today your Amalfi Coast private tour takes you to Mt. Vesuvius. The journey begins with an adventurous drive up the windy road until a parking lot at the crater. You must leave the car behind here for the 30-minute hike (moderate difficulty) to the top, which reaches nearly 4,200 feet. The views and fresh air here are well worth the effort.

Next you will meet your expert licensed tour guide for Pompeii for a private tour of this fascinating city. Thirty feet of hot mud and volcanic ash buried this Roman city when Mt. Vesuvius erupted in 79 A.D. Your expert guide will show you villas, baths, pizza parlors, storefronts, houses and other artifacts from this once-prosperous city, now a UNESCO World Heritage site.

This is the end of your Amalfi Coast private tour. We will transfer you to the Naples train station for the return journey to Florence.
