Your private walking tour of Paris with your excellent tour guide will take you to Rue
de l’Odeon, the “bookstore street,” which
was the stomping grounds of many famous writers,
including F. Scott Fitzgerald, James Joyce
and Ernest Hemingway. From here you will turn onto Rue
de Vaugirard, the longest street in Paris.
Passing the French Senate, your Paris tour will take you to
Luxembourg Gardens, where you will see Bartoldi’s
Statue of Liberty and discover the busts of
famous writers like Baudelaire and George Sand. You
will return to Rue de Vaugirard, stopping
at No, 58, former home of Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald,
then stroll along Rue de Fleurus,
where Gertrude Stein hosted her friends Hemingway,
Apollinaire, Matisse and Cezanne. You will
stop at Place St. Sulpice for a guided visit
of the church before continuing your tour on Rue
Git le Coeur, to Place St Michel and Notre
Dame (short photo stop), crossing the
Seine again to finish your Paris
tour at the renowned “Shakespeare & Co”
bookstore, which Henry Miller used to call
“a wonderland of books.”
