leads the walking tours. In this escorted
Italy package, your tour escort will meet you at
the airport when you arrive and take you to
the airport for your departure on your last day.
Your escort is available to join you even on
your free times or leisure times.
Regardless, your escort is there to take care of
all your needs.
Another significant
difference in having an escort is that your
escort can provide you additional sightseeing
adventures or outings during your free times.

Day 1 -
Arrival in Rome, Overnight in Rome
NOTE:
If you are flying from the US, it will most
likely be an overnight flight so must leave the
day before the tour begins.
Upon
arrival you will be picked up at the airport in
a private car or van and taken to your hotel.
You will check into your hotel, your home for
the next 3 nights.
Take
a stroll late afternoon and evening on your own.
If you are on an escorted tour, your tour escort
will take you on a stroll before you head out to
dinner. Your tour escort will be always
available to you according to your needs.

dinner.
Day 2 - Ancient Rome
Tour, Overnight in Rome
This morning, an
excellent licensed guide will take you for a walking tour of
Ancient Rome and see some of the finest examples of Roman
architectural engineering. Hear about fascinating stories
about the Colosseum, which stands near the center of present-day
Rome. You will see the forum, once the administration,
business and commercial center of Ancient Rome. There are
numerous sites within the forum: numerous temples, Basilicas,
arches.
You will visit the Pantheon, with its
best-preserved dome was the biggest in Europe until the
Renaissance. Other sites of Ancient Rome also includes Arch of
Constantine and Piazza del Campidoglio, which was designed by
Michelangelo.
You're free after the
tour. As always, if you are on an escorted tour, your tour
escort will explore with you even during the designated free
times. Please feel free to release your escort as you see

Day 3 -
Vatican City: St. Peter’s Basilica, Vatican Museum, Sistine
Chapel, Overnight in Rome

You will meet our local professional tour
guide at 9:30am for your tour today. Immerse yourself in the art,
history and religion of The Vatican, the smallest State in the world.
You will visit St. Peter's Basilica, the Sistine Chapel and the Vatican
Museum.
The Vatican's art collection is vast and it
is one of the most important collection in the world. You will
visit the Sistine Chapel, where you will see Michelangelo's Last
Judgment frescos. You will also visit St. Peter's Basilica and view
Michelangelo's famous Pieta, the incredible Baldacchino done by Bernini,
and the tombs of the Popes including John Paul II and the tomb of St.
Peter's.
You are free after the tour. (B)
Day 4 - Fri. May 18
Rome, Siena, Florence, Overnight in Florence
A private
transportation will take you from Rome to Florence early in the
morning. On the way to Florence, you will stop for 4 hours
in the medieval walled city of Siena, one of the very best
places to see in Tuscany. Enjoy this fabulous city, Siena.
It's car-free, full of interesting sites and shops.
You will have a short
orientation tour followed by some free time for visiting a site
or 2, lunch and shopping. You will be given a map and a
list of sites and restaurants where you may have lunch.
Your driving guide is available to explore with you if you want
some company.
You will continue
onto Florence after your tour of Siena. Your driving
guide will leave you there. You'll check into your hotel
and relax. Consult your Restaurant List for a place for
dinner tonight. (B)
Day 5 - Sat. May 19
Walking Tour of Florence, Accademia Museum, Overnight in
Florence
At 10:00am, a
fantastic guide will lead a 3-hour walking tour of
Florence. Details to follow.
After the walking tour, your guide will take you to visit Accademia to view
some of Michelangelo's works, including the Statue of David.
You can stay in the museum as long as you want.
You're free after the tour. (B)
Day 6 - Sat. May 20 Leisure Day, Overnight in Florence
Today, you're free to
explore Florence on your own. There are endless sights to
visit. Florence has many more museums, palaces and open
markets. You can visit the Uffizi museum. We can
make a reservation and/or get you a private guide, if you are interested. You can
also visit the Boboli Gardens or go shopping. Leather
and gold in abundance. Consult our Activities and
Restaurant Lists.
You may consider
taking a train to Lucca or Pisa today. It's easy to get
there by train. If you are on an escorted tour, you tour
escort will be happy to take you there. (B)
Day 7 - Sun. May 21 Venice Walking Tour: St. Mark's Square, The Duomo, Doge's
Palace, Bridge of Sighs and More, Doge's Palace, Overnight in Venice

This morning you will
take the train and travel first class to Venice. You will leave Florence
early this morning and arrive mid-day. You will have assistance getting to the train station and
boarding the train. Upon arrival, our representative will meet you at the train
station in Venice and take you to your hotel aboard your own private water taxi.

After lunch, at
3:00pm, our fabulous local guide will show you the most important
sites of Venice.
You will visit St. Mark's square. See the ancient political and
administrative center of the Republic of Venice, the Doge's
Palace, the seat of the government including the prisons and the
famous Bridge of Sighs, St Mark's Church with its gold mosaics,
Rialto Market and more.
You're free after the tour. You'll have dinner on
your own. There are endless number of restaurants around.
Have the hotel call a restaurant ahead of time before you head
out to dinner. Consult our Restaurant List.
Note: Please
have the concierge book ahead for your water taxi for the
airport transfer. Ask him to include the porter service from the
dock to the terminal. (B)
Day 8 - Mon. May 22
Leisure Day, Overnight in Venice
You're free to
explore Venice on your own today. Venice has MANY sites.
Consult the List of Sites we have for you or you guide book.
If you have not been
to Venice, we suggest you wander and lose yourself in the
different neighborhoods. We love going for a walk
very early in the morning before the day trippers arrive. You
may also walk to the Peggy Guggenheim museum, as
it will take you another part of Venice away from St. Mark's
Square area. You will see a different neighborhood and her mansion houses her brilliant
collection of contemporary
art. The mansion has a nice garden, a cafe and
it faces the Grand canal.
Tonight is your last
night in Venice. Weather permitting, a fantastic
meal outdoor is an amazing ending to this fabulous tour. (B)

May 23 Departure Day
Explore Venice one
last time before you catch your flight today.
